Newpave is a leading asphalt and road construction company delivering projects across regional and metropolitan New South Wales. With modern equipment, a strong safety culture and a commitment to quality, we’re looking for an experienced Loader Operator to join our team based in Tomago .
This position is primarily based at our Tomago Asphalt Plant ; however, the successful applicant must be willing to travel and work at other Newpave locations, including Moree, Muswellbrook and Warnervale , as operational requirements dictate.

About the Role
Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of the asphalt plant by supplying materials, managing stockpiles and supporting production activities.
The role may involve day, afternoon, night and weekend work , depending on production schedules and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate front-end loaders in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain continuous supply of aggregates to cold feed bins during asphalt production.
- Manage, maintain and organise stockpiles within the materials yard.
- Receive, direct and coordinate aggregate and sand deliveries.
- Conduct daily pre-start inspections and basic operator maintenance.
- Maintain housekeeping standards across the plant and yard.
- Assist with general plant maintenance and operational duties as required.
- Work safely in accordance with WHS legislation, company procedures and environmental requirements.
- Work collaboratively with plant operators, truck drivers and maintenance personnel.
About You
- You will be a motivated and reliable operator who enjoys working in a production environment and takes pride in operating machinery safely and efficiently.
- Current Front End Loader (LL) competency or relevant VOC.
- Current Class C Driver Licence (minimum).
- Demonstrated experience operating loaders in an asphalt plant, quarry, mining, concrete or similar heavy industrial environment.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Positive communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends when required.
- Willingness to travel and work away from home when required.
- HR or HC Driver Licence.
- Mechanical aptitude.
