Embrace People & Place is seeking a Governance Officer to join the team in a part-time role (3 days per week, Tues-Thur). Based in Newcastle NSW 2300, the Governance Officer works closely with the Chair, Board, Executive Team and key stakeholders to support effective governance, operational excellence and the smooth and efficient administration of Board and Committee functions of the Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation, Embrace People & Place and other associated entities.
What you'll be doing
- Provide governance support to the CEO, Chair and Executive Team.
- Attend Board Meetings (held monthly in the evenings) to perform accurate minuting functions and Board support
- Manage administrative practices, record-keeping systems, registers and procedures to optimise operational efficiency and quality outcomes
- Coordinate the maintenance of corporate policies ensuring reviews are undertaken as they fall due, and Board-approved changes are updated promptly
- Manage service providers and vendors relevant to the daily operations of the organisation
What we're looking for
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role
- High level of attention to detail and organisational skills
- High-level written skills and proficient computer skills
- Flexibility to work outside of business hours for the purposes of attending scheduled Board Meetings
