About the role
As a Sunshine Sugar Apprentice Electrician, you will receive structured on-the-job training and support from experienced tradespeople to help you develop the skills and knowledge required to become a qualified Electrician.
Industrial electricians working in sugar mills are exposed to a great variety of equipment not seen in many other industries. You will be working with large motors, transformers and equipment ranging from fibre optic transmission cable through to 11,000V wiring and control. All this equipment is connected together through a complex control system which your team maintains.
Upon completion,
you will receive a nationally recognised trade Certificate III in Electrotechnology. Sunshine Sugar provides a structured process with workplace-based training, supported by attendance at a local TAFE one day per week.

- Completion of high school (or completion prior to start of the apprenticeship) with a commitment to learning
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career as an Electrician
- Good problem-solving skills and an aptitude for technical and hands-on work
- Strong mathematical ability
