Your impact At Jacobs, we're delivering some of the region's most complex and impactful building and infrastructure projects, helping our clients solve critical challenges through innovative engineering solutions. As our Buildings and Places business continues to grow across Australia, New Zealand and the wider region, we're looking for an experienced Associate Structural Engineer to join our Brisbane team. This senior role is suited to an experienced structural engineer who enjoys combining technical excellence with client engagement, project delivery and business development.
The position offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects, build strong client relationships, mentor developing engineers and contribute to the continued growth of our structural engineering capability. Working alongside a highly skilled team, you'll play an important role in delivering high-quality structural solutions across a broad range of projects while helping strengthen Jacobs' reputation as a trusted advisor to clients across both public and private sectors.
Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality structural engineering design, assessment, rehabilitation and consultancy services across a range of building projects
Undertake technical design, review and assurance activities, providing sound engineering judgement throughout project delivery
Manage and coordinate project delivery activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time and within budget
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and supporting successful project outcomes
Contribute to business development activities, including identifying opportunities, supporting pursuits and assisting with work-winning initiatives
Prepare and contribute to proposals, bids and tender submissions
Support project managers and section leaders in achieving successful commercial and delivery outcomes
Collaborate with client account teams to identify emerging opportunities and strengthen client relationships
Represent Jacobs at client meetings,
industry forums and technical events where appropriate
Mentor and support junior engineers, helping to build capability within the team
Maintain compliance with Jacobs' quality assurance processes and project delivery standards
Collaborate effectively with colleagues across regions and disciplines to deliver integrated solutions for clients Here's what you'll need Degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering
Demonstrated experience delivering structural engineering solutions within a consulting environment
Strong technical capability across structural design, assessment and project delivery
Experience managing project responsibilities and contributing to successful commercial outcomes
Well-developed client relationship and stakeholder management skills
Ability to identify and support business development and work-winning opportunities
Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience coaching, mentoring or supporting the development of junior team members
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
