As our firm continues to grow, we are expanding our Audit & Assurance division and establishing a dedicated forensic accounting service. This is a leadership opportunity to influence both service lines while working with a diverse client base. ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Audit & Forensic Services Manager to lead and expand ClarityNT's Audit & Assurance division while helping shape and develop our forensic accounting service offering. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for the strategic growth, quality and performance of ClarityNT's Audit & Assurance division, while driving the development of our forensic accounting services. We are looking for a commercially minded professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional client service, mentoring teams and identifying opportunities for growth.
Working closely with the Managing Director, you will strengthen and expand the firm's audit practice, develop new service offerings, build client relationships and contribute to the strategic direction of the business. The role is primarily focused on leading external audit engagements across a diverse client base, not-for-profit organisations, schools, incorporated associations and private businesses. In addition, you will provide ad hoc accounting and business advisory services where appropriate, supporting clients with practical advice and solutions.
A unique feature of this position is the opportunity to help build ClarityNT's forensic accounting capability. You will play a key role in developing this emerging service area. The position is primarily work-from-home for applicants outside Alice Springs, with flexible hours of 30–38 per week.
While Northern
Territory applicants are preferred, we welcome applications from elsewhere in Australia, provided you are willing to travel to the NT when required. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Audit & Assurance
Lead and manage financial audits from planning through to completion.
Conduct audits for a diverse range of organisations, incorporated associations, schools and not-for-profit entities.
Prepare audit reports, management letters and other audit deliverables.
Present audit findings and recommendations to Boards, Committees and management.
Ensure compliance with Australian Auditing Standards and applicable legislation.
Develop and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.
Review audit files and provide technical guidance to team members.
Lead the ongoing growth and development of ClarityNT's Audit & Assurance division.
Mentor, coach and develop audit and accounting team members.
Improve audit methodologies, systems and quality assurance processes.
Assist with workflow planning, scheduling and resource management.
Identify, develop and pursue opportunities to expand the firm's audit,
assurance and related advisory services.
Contribute to the strategic growth and profitability of the Audit & Assurance division.
Support proposals, tenders and business development opportunities. Accounting, Taxation & Advisory
Prepare Business Activity Statements and other taxation compliance obligations.
Provide accounting, business advisory and financial management support to clients.
Assist clients with governance, compliance and reporting obligations.
Support funding acquittals and grant reporting requirements.
Review work completed by other team members where required.
Provide practical advice and solutions to clients across a range of industries and sectors.
Forensic
Accounting
Lead the development and growth of ClarityNT's forensic accounting and investigation services.
Develop forensic accounting services, systems, methodologies and procedures.
Undertake fraud detection, prevention and investigation engagements.
Prepare high qualify fact-based reports and provide specialist advice where required.
Build relationships with legal professionals, government agencies and referral partners.
Identify and pursue opportunities to expand ClarityNT's forensic accounting services.
Contribute to the development of a sustainable pipeline of forensic accounting engagements.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) or Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) qualification.
Current driver's license and willingness to travel when required.
Australian citizenship or permanent residency with unrestricted working rights in Australia.
Essential
Experience
Minimum seven years' demonstrated experience in public practice accounting, auditing or assurance.
Demonstrated experience leading and completing external audit engagements.
Demonstrated experience in forensic accounting, fraud investigations, financial investigations, dispute resolution or related specialist advisory services.
Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring and developing professional staff.
Experience auditing not-for-profit organisations, incorporated associations, schools or similar entities.
Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards.
Experience managing client relationships and delivering high-quality professional services.
Experience reviewing work and providing guidance to junior team members.

Experience
Experience working with Aboriginal corporations, First Nations organisations and communities.
Demonstrated understanding of the unique governance, operational and cultural environments of Aboriginal corporations and First Nations organisations operating in remote and regional communities.
