Role Description This is a full-time hybrid role for an Automation Engineer based in Sydney, NSW, with a mix of on-site work at client facilities and some work from home.

The Automation

Engineer will design, implement, and optimize control systems and automation solutions for manufacturing plants, applying relevant industry standards and best practices. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and configuring process control strategies, programming PLCs and HMIs, integrating robotics and automation equipment, and ensuring reliable data collection for analytics and reporting.



The role involves diagnosing and troubleshooting system issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver turnkey solutions, and supporting digital transformation initiatives that enhance production efficiency and quality.

The Automation

Engineer will also contribute to documentation, testing, commissioning, and continuous improvement of automation architectures across client sites.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess robust skills in Process Control and Automation for designing, implementing, and optimizing industrial control systems.
- Candidates should possess solid Electrical Engineering and Robotics skills to integrate, configure, and maintain automated equipment and related hardware safely and effectively.
- Candidates should possess advanced Troubleshooting skills to identify, analyze, and resolve control system, instrumentation, and production issues in a timely manner.
- Candidates should possess proficiency with PLC, HMI/SCADA programming, industrial communication protocols, and data integration tools.
- Candidates should possess experience working in manufacturing or process industries and familiarity with standards such as S88/S95 or similar frameworks.
- Candidates should possess strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, and client stakeholders.
- Candidates should possess a relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation) or equivalent practical experience.
