Role Purpose:
Design, develop, maintain and execute automated test scripts to improve test coverage, efficiency and quality. Responsible for validating application functionality, identifying defects, supporting regression testing and contributing to the delivery of high-quality solutions within project timelines.
Responsibilities
- Designed and implemented CTAS automation solutions to improve regression coverage, reduce manual testing effort, and accelerate release validation.
- Developed and maintained reusable automation frameworks for web applications, APIs, database validation, and batch processing, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
- Embedded automated test execution into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, enabling continuous testing and rapid feedback during deployments.
- Automated REST API validation, including request/response verification, authentication, business rule validation, and end-to-end integration testing.
- Performed database validation using SQL to verify data integrity, transformations, reconciliation, and backend processing across multiple integrated systems.
- Designed automation for batch processing workflows, including Control-M scheduling, Informatica taskflows, file ingestion, and AWS S3 validation.
- Applied risk-based automation strategies to prioritise business-critical functionality, improving regression effectiveness while reducing execution time.
- Collaborated with Product Owners, Business Analysts,
and developers to define automation acceptance criteria and identify automation opportunities during story refinement.
- Managed automation assets using Git and integrated execution with Azure DevOps pipelines for scheduled, on-demand, and release-based executions.
- Utilised Jira, Confluence, and Xray for automation planning, test management, traceability, execution reporting, and defect lifecycle management.
- Analysed automation failures, identified root causes, and implemented framework enhancements to improve execution stability and reduce maintenance effort.
- Supported test data management, environment readiness, and automation execution across SIT, UAT, and pre-production environments.
- Produced automation execution reports, coverage metrics, and defect analysis to support release readiness and quality governance.
- Mentored team members on CTAS automation standards, framework usage, coding best practices, and continuous testing principles.
- Contributed to automation governance by defining coding standards, reusable libraries, naming conventions, and framework documentation to support long-term maintainability.
- Worked closely with DevOps teams to troubleshoot pipeline failures, setting issues, and deployment dependencies affecting automation execution.
- Evaluated new automation tools and technologies to continuously improve the CTAS capability, execution efficiency, and overall quality engineering practices.
