About the role
Requirements Elicitation, Analysis & Documentation
- Conduct structured elicitation via workshops, interviews, observation, and document analysis; extract what stakeholders mean, challenge requirements that are inconsistent, unachievable, or misaligned with the strategic objective.
- Produce unambiguous BRDs, Functional Specifications, process models (BPMN), data flow diagrams, and use cases actionable by any team member without supplementary briefing; maintain full requirements traceability from business objective to Feature Epic to User Story to test case.
- Author business user stories with Given-When-Then acceptance criteria co-authored with QA Testers during refinement.
Technical Bridge & Domain Contribution
- Apply sufficient technical literacy — APIs, data flows, event-driven architecture, system integration to document integration requirements precisely, challenge technical constraints in business language, and ensure requirements are grounded in architectural reality.
- Apply insurance domain knowledge across Sales, Underwriting, Claims, Unified Services, Retail,
and Customer Operations; ensure regulatory compliance (APRA, ASIC, ICA) is built into requirements from inception.
- Define data requirements, data dictionaries, and payload structures so that developers and architects work from agreed, documented contracts.
Agile Delivery & Sprint Execution
- Work 2–3 sprints ahead of the delivery team in partnership with the TPO and Tribe Technical Lead; ensure stories meet the full Definition of Ready — business-validated, technically grounded, and acceptance criteria agreed — before Sprint Planning.
- Participate in PI Planning: present business context, clarify requirements in team breakouts, identify cross-team dependencies, and support iteration planning with accurate scope definition.
- Remain available and responsive during sprint execution; resolve business ambiguity immediately.
Stakeholder Engagement & Documentation
- Build and sustain trusted working relationships across Sales, Underwriting, Claims, Operations, and Technology; facilitate workshops with mixed audiences; extract consensus from disagreement and documented requirements from conversation.
- Maintain living Confluence documentation — BRDs, process maps, data dictionaries, decision logs, and traceability matrices — current and actionable throughout every PI.
About you
- Demonstrated ability to focus on business outcomes, ensuring solutions deliver measurable value and effectively address underlying business needs.
- Proactively challenges assumptions, identifies risks, gaps, and edge cases, and applies critical thinking to uncover root causes and improve solution quality.
- Skilled at bridging business and technical teams,
translating complex requirements and constraints into clear, actionable outcomes for diverse stakeholders.
- Committed to ongoing professional development, knowledge sharing, and fostering a collaborative team setting with shared accountability for successful delivery.
- SAFe® Product Owner / Product Manager or Agile BA certification demonstrating structured requirements practice within a scaled Agile framework.
- Certified Business Analysis Professional or Certification in Capability in Business Analysis from the International Institute of Business Analysis.
- A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
