About the role The Business Development Specialist supports the Partnership Development Manager in executing Keystart’s broker strategy and strengthening the performance of the broker channel.

Working under the direction of the Partnership Development Manager, the role delivers broker engagement and account-management activities, deepens relationships and supports growth across assigned brokers and broker segments.

The role is also the day-to-day contact for broker queries and escalations outside standard operational processes. It coordinates with internal teams to progress initiatives, improve the broker experience and identify opportunities through broker performance, feedback and complaints.

Loan processing and credit assessment are not the responsibility of this role but are performed by the relevant operational teams.

What You'll Be Responsible for

- Broker Strategy Execution and Growth

- Support the Partnership Development Manager in implementing broker strategy, engagement plans and agreed channel priorities.

- Deliver business-development activities that increase the volume, quality and suitability of broker referrals.

- Maintain a pipeline of broker engagement and growth activities and report on progress, opportunities and barriers.

2. Broker Relationship and Account Management
- Build and deepen broker relationships in accordance with priorities set by the Partnership Development Manager.

- Apply structured account-based management practices across assigned brokers and broker segments.

3. Broker Queries and Escalations
- Act as the day-to-day contact for broker queries and escalations outside standard operational processes.

- Coordinate with the appropriate internal teams and keep brokers informed through to resolution.

Broker Performance and Insights
- Monitor broker activity, referral quality, conversion and other relevant channel-performance measures.

- Analyse broker feedback, complaints and Net Promoter Score results to identify trends, risks and opportunities.

- Provide practical insights and recommendations to support account planning and channel priorities.

5. Broker and Customer Experience
- Champion positive broker and customer outcomes across the referral and lending journey.

- Work with internal teams to address friction points and support broker-facing process improvements.

- Assist with broker communications, education, product updates, onboarding and accreditation activities.

6. Internal Coordination, Governance and Risk
- Coordinate with Home Lending, Credit, Product, Marketing, Risk and other teams to deliver broker-related actions.

- Support the Partnership Development Manager with channel reporting, account plans, presentations and engagement activities.

- Identify and escalate customer, conduct, compliance or reputational risks and ensure established controls are followed.

About You

- Experience in broker relationship management, business development, account management or intermediary distribution.

- Demonstrated experience in finance/mortgage broker industry.

- Demonstrated ability to build productive external relationships and execute agreed engagement plans.

- Experience coordinating queries or escalations across multiple internal stakeholders.

- Ability to interpret performance information and translate findings into practical actions.

- Ability to manage competing priorities in a regulated or customer-focused environment.

- A tertiary qualification in business, commerce, finance, marketing or a related discipline is desirable. Relevant industry experience and demonstrated capability will also be considered.
