Geared Engineering is a trusted name in the overhaul and repair of industrial gearboxes and Undercarriage components, backed by decades of experience and a purpose-built facility located in Beresfield, NSW. Our central location allows us to deliver fast, reliable gearbox repairs with minimal downtime for our clients.

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Fitter to join our team. This is a great opportunity for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for precision engineering.

Mechanical Fitter – Geared Engineering

Location: Beresfield, NSW

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently, safely, and on schedule
- Ensure all work meets quality and specification standards, with timely completion of required documentation
- Perform general fitting, overhaul, and repair of Gear Reduction Units, Fluid Couplings, and Power Transmission Devices
- Maintain and correctly operate workshop equipment
- Accurately measure and sketch mechanical components
- Adhere to all company procedures and safety standards
- Carry out mechanical repairs and component manufacturing as directed
- Apply exact fitting techniques for bearings, gears, seals, etc., using heating/freezing and other methods
- Support team development,



including training apprentices and assisting colleagues
- Inspect and document mechanical conditions before and after refurbishment, identifying wear, damage, or potential issues in components like gears, shafts, and housings

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including with management and technical staff
- Proven ability to meet deadlines while managing competing priorities
- Effective goal setting and performance management aligned with company standards
- Strong team orientation with the ability to build and maintain positive internal and external relationships
- Capacity to work independently and manage workload without supervision
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with the initiative to develop alternative solutions
- Basic computer literacy
- Proficiency in hazard identification and a proactive approach to workplace safety
