Position Description:

Melpax Trade a leading manufacturer of high-quality flat-pack cabinets to the trade (cabinet makers). We are looking to expand our small but growing manufacturing team in Keysborough and would love to hear from you if you think you're a good fit for the role.

We are hiring for personality and work ethic. Saying that, you will be comfortable with a tape measure & power tools. We will also look favorably on applicants that have worked in a team-based manufacturing environment, and have a forklift license, or experience driving a forklift.

We're looking for someone who is:

- Healthy & dependable, with a stable personal life
- A great communicator & team player with high emotional intelligence

- Has good energy levels, with a natural tendency to get things done at a reasonable pace. The production floor is performance focused, and requires steady, purposeful work to hit the days' production targets.

- Okay switching between tasks. As an all-rounder, your days will be varied, sometimes moving between Production Support, Machine Operation, Front of House, Cleaning/Organisation.

- Has a tendency to be clean, organised & friendly

- Likes working in an environment where quality & customer service matter

As an all rounder, you will be involved in all of these tasks.

- Machine Operation:

- Our Flatbed CNC routers (X 2) and Edge banders (X2) are the heart of our manufacturing operation. All staff in our crew are able to operate these machines safely, identify and rectify quality issues, and do basic maintenance and trouble shooting. If you have not worked on these machines before, we will provide on the job training.

Quality Control:
- We are processing close to a thousand cabinet (parts) a day, so attention to detail and care factor are so important from all team members. We have processes in place so that issues are avoided altogether, or identified if they do. But at the end of the day, it comes down to spotting issues and caring enough to do something about it. Our cabinet maker clients have come to expect a high standard from us, allowing them to trust that when they take delivery of their order, it will be complete, processed properly, and free from defects like chips and scratches.

3. Material Handling:
- We cut large sheet products into smaller cabinet parts. As such, you will use a forklift to take deliveries of sheet material, use a forklift to load sheet products onto the CNC routers (sometimes by hand), and move material between machines and onto the packaging area using tables and trolleys. You will also use a forklift to load completed orders into various vehicles (e.g. Utes, trucks). You may also be required to do local deliveries or pickups in our Ute (automatic).

4. Safety Compliance:
- We all want to go home safely, so it's important that you operate machinery/plant in a safe manner according to established safefy guidelines and common sense. We also encourage the use of PPE including hearing protection, dust mask and eye protection as required.

5. Workplace Cleanliness:




- This might sound far fetched, but we believe that keeping a neat, organised and clean factory is directly related to our ability to produce quality product and be efficient in our operations. Our workshop is clean and organised. Everything has it's place, we clean as we go, we do a good clean-up at the end of the day, and an even better clean-up at the end of the week.

6. Team Collaboration:

This means open and honest (but friendly and respectful) communication between all team members.
