Caravan Service & Repair Technician
Jayco Hobart Service Centre | Full Time | Monthly RDO
Looking for a hands-on role with plenty of variety?
Jayco Hobart is an award-winning dealership and an established name in Tasmania’s caravan and camping industry. Our busy Jayco Service Centre is looking for a practical, reliable and mechanically minded person to join our workshop team.
Previous caravan experience is NOT required.
If you’re good with your hands, enjoy fault finding and fixing things, and take pride in quality workmanship, we want to hear from you.
Experience in automotive, carpentry, cabinet making, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, maintenance or similar hands-on work would all transfer well into this role.
The Role
This is a full-time, ongoing position with one RDO per month. It’s a genuinely varied role covering servicing, repairs, warranty work, insurance repairs and accessory installations on caravans and RVs.
Your work will include
- Caravan servicing, repairs and maintenance
- Jayco warranty repairs
- Insurance repair work
- Fault finding and diagnosis
- Fitting solar systems and 12V accessories
- Fitting water tanks, bike racks, TVs, heaters, air conditioners and other caravan accessories
- 12V electrical installations and repairs
- Plumbing repairs and installations
- Cabinetry and internal fit-out repairs
- Roof and ceiling repairs
- Interior and exterior wall repairs
- Window and door repairs and replacement
- Accurately completing job cards and recording parts and materials used
- Maintaining a clean, organised and secure workshop
Who We're Looking For
You don't need to be a qualified caravan technician. We’re more interested in finding someone with the right attitude,
practical ability and willingness to learn.
You may currently be working as a:
Carpenter | Cabinet Maker | Automotive Technician | Auto Electrician | Mechanic | Plumber | Maintenance Technician | Caravan/RV Technician
Or you may simply be a capable all-rounder with strong hands-on skills.
Ideally, you will:
- Be practical and mechanically minded
- Have good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Take pride in the quality of your work
- Have strong attention to detail
- Be reliable and organised
- Be comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Be willing to learn new skills
- Respect customers' caravans and property
- Be physically capable of working underneath, inside and above caravans
- Work safely and follow WHS requirements
- Maintain a professional and respectful attitude in the workplace
Why Join Jayco Hobart?
This isn't a production-line role where you'll be doing the same job every day. Caravans combine elements of automotive, electrical, plumbing, cabinetry, construction and mechanical work, making this a great prospect for someone who enjoys variety and problem solving.
We offer
- Full-time, ongoing employment
- One RDO every month
- Varied and interesting work
- Training and support provided
- Established workshop and facilities
- Opportunity to learn and develop new skills
- Work across a wide range of caravans, repairs and accessories
- Supportive and experienced team
- Stable employment with an established local business
Interested?
Whether you're already experienced in caravan repairs or you're looking to bring your skills across from another trade or industry, we'd like to hear from you. Apply through SEEK with your resume and a brief introduction outlining your experience.
