About the role

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Claims Officer to join our team at our Maitland NSW office on a full time basis . In this strategic role, you will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of insurance claims from initial notification through to resolution. You will play a crucial part in ensuring that claims are handled efficiently, fairly and in accordance with relevant legislation and policy requirements. Your expertise will be fundamental to maintaining ARMA Group's reputation for excellence in claims management and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

- Assess and investigate insurance claims to determine validity and coverage eligibility
- Manage the full lifecycle of claims from receipt through to settlement and closure
- Communicate effectively with claimants, service providers and internal stakeholders to gather necessary information and provide updates
- Review claim documentation, reports and supporting evidence to make informed decisions
- Determine appropriate claim outcomes in accordance with policy terms and legislative requirements
- Negotiate settlements and manage dispute resolution processes where necessary
- Maintain accurate and detailed claim files and records in accordance with company procedures




- Liaise with Insurance representatives, assessors and other third parties as required
- Ensure compliance with all relevant insurance legislation, regulations and company policies

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working in insurance claims management, preferably within the general insurance sector
- Strong knowledge of claims assessment procedures, policy interpretation and relevant insurance legislation
- Excellent investigation and analytical skills with the ability to assess complex claim information
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders
- Proficiency in claims management systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously and prioritise workload effectively
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in documentation and decision-making
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Sound understanding of privacy legislation and confidentiality requirements
