We are recognised as Far North Queensland's dedicated Marine Transmission specialist and support clients across the marine, mining, agriculture and industrial sectors.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an organised, customer-focused and technically minded Parts Co-ordinator to join our team in Portsmith.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with parts, stores, automotive, diesel, marine or heavy equipment experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced workshop environment.
About the Role
As the Parts Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for managing the procurement, inventory, sales and distribution of parts for marine transmissions, diesel engines, generators and associated equipment. You will play a critical role in supporting workshop operations and ensuring our customers receive the right parts on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate sourcing, ordering and procurement of parts from local, national and international suppliers
- Manage inventory levels and maintain accurate stock records
- Process customer parts enquiries, quotations and sales orders
- Liaise with workshop technicians to identify parts requirements for repairs and rebuilds
- Receive, inspect and reconcile incoming deliveries
- Coordinate freight and logistics for parts shipments
- Maintain supplier relationships and negotiate pricing where appropriate
- Assist with warranty claims and returns processes
- Ensure stock control procedures are followed, and inventory discrepancies are investigated
- Support workshop scheduling by ensuring parts availability for upcoming jobs
- Maintain a clean,
organised and efficient parts warehouse and storage area
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across parts and stores operations
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a Parts Interpreter, Parts Co-ordinator, Storesperson or Inventory / Administration role
- Strong computer skills and experience using inventory or workshop management systems
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Current Australian Driver's License
- Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities
Highly Desirable
- Experience within marine, diesel, automotive, transport, agricultural, mining or heavy equipment industries
- Knowledge of diesel engines, marine transmissions or mechanical components
- Experience with supplier management and procurement processes
- Forklift license
- Understanding of warranty administration and freight coordination
