Application close: Sunday 9th August 2026 at 11.59pm A n exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join the Paediatric Units across Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD).

This is a maternity relief position and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from maternity leave, this contract of employment will cease with two weeks notice. Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency. This position offers the chance to contribute meaningfully to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care for children and their families across a variety of settings, including acute short-stay admissions and outpatient clinics.

Working within a collaborative and multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting safe and effective clinical care while fostering the development of junior nursing staff.

This role is ideally suited to a nurse who is passionate about paediatrics and seeking to expand their expertise within a supportive, flexible, and innovative care setting. Applicants with paediatric experience are encouraged to apply; however, we also welcome nurses who are eager to grow and develop in this specialty with the support of a committed and experienced team.

About The Role As a Registered Nurse in our Paediatric Unit, you will play a key role in delivering acute and sub-acute care to children within the CCLHD. You will work across a flexible care model that includes:

- Acute short stay admissions
- Paediatric Outpatient Clinics
- Burns Outreach Clinic (in collaboration with specialist teams)

About You

- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
- Passionate about working with children and families in a healthcare setting.
- Committed to teamwork, professional growth, and high standards of care.
- Previous paediatric experience is desirable, but not essential – we’re happy to support the right candidate to grow in the role
