About the role

Breve Cafe Bar is seeking an experienced Chef to join our team at our cafe located in the heart of Perth, WA. This is a contract role, offering the opportunity to work as part of a dynamic and passionate culinary team, creating exceptional dining experiences for our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the hospitality and tourism industry, with a proven track record of leading and developing kitchen teams.

What you'll be doing

1. Overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, and quality control
2. Developing and refining recipes to enhance the cafe's signature dishes
3. Supervising and training the kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation
4. Collaborating with the management team to plan and implement new menu items, catering to seasonal and customer preferences
5. Maintaining a safe and efficient work environment, adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations
6. Participating in inventory management and cost control initiatives to optimise operational efficiency

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 10 years of experience as a Chef in a similar hospitality or tourism setting
2. Strong culinary skills and an in-depth knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines
3. Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on developing and mentoring kitchen staff
4. Proficient in menu planning, cost control,



and inventory management
5. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach
7. Demonstrated commitment to upholding food safety and hygiene standards
