THE COMPANY
Highbury Executive has been exclusively engaged by a privately held property development and construction business based in Brisbane. With a strong pipeline of projects and a track record of disciplined growth, the business is entering its next phase of expansion through both organic and inorganic M&A; opportunities.
This is a genuine opportunity for a commercially astute finance executive to become a true right-hand partner in a business with real momentum, and to play a hands-on role in shaping its financial and operational future.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a trusted commercial and financial partner to the Founder, providing the insight and rigour to support project decisions, capital allocation and long-term strategy.
- Build and lead a finance function fit for a growing development and construction business, including project-level reporting, consolidations and the delivery of accurate, timely financial information.
- Lead M&A; acquisitions and integrations to enhance value creation across the group.
- Lead all funding, banking and financier relationships, including debt facilities, project finance and equity requirements across the development pipeline.
- Oversee cash flow forecasting and working capital management across multiple concurrent projects,
ensuring disciplined capital deployment.
- Drive financial governance, internal controls and risk management across the business, including compliance, tax and external audit processes.
- Partner with development and construction leadership to bring commercial and financial discipline to project feasibility, margin management and delivery performance.
REQUIREMENTS
- CA or CPA qualified, ideally with Big 4 or reputable mid-tier training.
- Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance leader within property development, construction, or a related capital-intensive project business.
- Strong track record in project finance, banking relationships and funding structures.
- Technical accounting expertise across financial reporting, tax, compliance and governance.
- A commercially minded, hands-on leader comfortable operating in a privately held business, with a genuine "right-hand" mindset to ownership.
