Shape the future of clinical education in aged care

Altura Learning is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Chief Medical Officer to lead the clinical integrity, educational quality and future development of our aged care learning products.

This is a senior leadership role with the prospect to influence clinical education across Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Ireland. Working closely with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, Nurse Educators and external industry experts, you will ensure our learning content remains evidence-based, relevant, innovative and responsive to the changing needs of the aged care sector.

About the role

As Chief Medical Officer, you will provide clinical and educational leadership across Altura Learning’s product portfolio.

You will lead the research and development of high-quality video, eLearning, microcredential and emerging AI-enabled learning products, while ensuring our existing course library remains current, clinically accurate and aligned with regulatory requirements and sector best practice.

You will also play an important external-facing role, strengthening Altura Learning’s profile through thought leadership, industry partnerships, client engagement and contribution to tenders and commercial opportunities.

Key responsibilities

- Shape Altura Learning’s clinical education and product strategy in partnership with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team.




- Lead the development of evidence-based video, digital learning, microcredential and AI-enabled education products.
- Ensure all clinical content is accurate, current, commercially sustainable and aligned with sector standards and best practice.
- Chair the Educational Governance Committee and establish the annual content development schedule.
- Lead and mentor the Nurse Educator team, supporting capability, performance and professional development.
- Identify opportunities for new learning products and revenue streams across Altura Learning’s operating regions.
- Build relationships with clinicians, industry bodies, educational institutions, customers and subject-matter experts.
- Establish and lead an external clinical or educational advisory committee.
- Represent Altura Learning in client meetings, tender submissions, industry discussions and pitch presentations.
- Monitor emerging clinical issues, policy developments and innovations relevant to aged care education.
- Improve the systems, processes and governance supporting content development and delivery.
- Manage the learning content budget and ensure agreed commercial and delivery targets are achieved.

About you You are a credible clinical leader who combines strong medical knowledge with a passion for education, innovation and improving aged care outcomes.

You will bring

- Medical qualifications and relevant professional registration or clinical credentials.
- Postgraduate qualifications in education, learning and development, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of clinical practice, aged care standards and sector developments.




- Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate clinical guidelines, research and medical literature.
- Experience developing evidence-based clinical or professional education content.
- Experience leading education, clinical or multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong project planning skills, including managing content development schedules and competing priorities.
- Experience working with video production, digital learning or learning design teams.
- The ability to build trusted relationships with clinicians, customers, executives and external stakeholders.
- Strong communication, presentation and thought-leadership capability.
- A practical, collaborative and commercially aware leadership style.

Essential requirements The successful candidate will be required to:

- Complete a National Police Check.
- Meet applicable vaccination and aged care suitability requirements.
- Travel as reasonably required.
- Meet all relevant legal, regulatory and screening requirements for working within the aged care sector.
