Children & Youth Support Workers - shift work
This is a great prospect for Children and Youth Support Workers to work with young people under the age of 18 in Glenhaven’s residential care program called Safe Haven. In Safe Haven we provide trauma informed and therapeutic care to children and youth in out of home care in the Launceston area.
Due to expansion in our Safe Haven program, we are looking for people that have a caring heart to provide consistent support, empathy and nurture whilst helping children and youth. You will have experience through either working, volunteering, coaching or parenting / raising children and / or young people.
We are looking for Support Workers to work day shifts, afternoon shifts sleepover shifts Monday to Sunday, and regular weekend shifts.
As a Children and Youth Support Worker, you will:
- Be available to work across a 24/7 roster including sleep overs, weekends, active awake shifts and afternoon shifts.
- Hold a minimum of Certificate 3 in Community Services / or a similar qualification / or are prepared to work towards such a qualification.
- Hold knowledge, experience and / or willingness to learn in providing therapeutic trauma informed care to children and young people that have experienced complex trauma.
- Be resilient, patient, passionate, a good communicator and team player.
- Be willing to navigate complex trauma responses and behaviours.
- Hold a current full Australian Driver's licence (minimum P2 licence)
is essential.
- Hold a current NDIS endorsed Working with Vulnerable People card (essential) or have the ability to acquire.
- Hold a current (less than 12 months old) Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check OR National Police Check (essential) or have the ability to acquire.
