About the Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated Site Engineer or Project Engineer to join a well-established specialist civil contractor delivering commercial civil and concrete works across metro Melbourne. Operating across earthworks, concrete, and hardscape scopes, this business works for some of Australia's leading head contractors across data centres, hospitals, schools, commercial buildings, and shopping centres. You will be based out of the Mulgrave office, heading to site each morning and returning to the office each afternoon, with exposure across a variety of concurrent projects ranging in value from $100K to $7M.

Key Responsibilities of the Project Engineer

- Manage day-to-day site engineering and project delivery across commercial civil and concrete scopes.
- Oversee earthworks, slab construction, hardscapes, and VicRoads accredited works including slip lanes, road widening, and traffic light installations.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers,



and head contractor interfaces across active projects.
- Monitor programme, quality, and safety performance on site.
- Support preparation of documentation including RFIs, variations, and progress reporting.
- Liaise with head contractors and clients to manage expectations and resolve technical issues.
- Manage between one and five concurrent projects depending on scope and scale.

What You Can Bring as the Project Engineer

- Demonstrated experience in a site engineering or project engineering role within civil construction.
- Background in earthworks, concrete, or civil infrastructure works preferred.
- Experience working for or alongside head contractors in a commercial construction environment.
- Robust organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Solid understanding of civil construction methods, sequencing, and subcontractor management.
- Full Australian working rights and a valid driver's licence.
- Based in Melbourne or willing to be.
