Your new role
As a Claims Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of life insurance claims across Income Protection and Total Permanent Disability (TPD), ensuring fair, timely and compliant outcomes for members. You will work within a structured team environment, supported by leadership, technical coaching and dedicated quality functions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage an end-to-end portfolio of life insurance claims (predominantly Income Protection with some TPD exposure)
- Assess and interpret policy terms, medical evidence and financial information
- Make sound decisions regarding benefit entitlement and ongoing payments
- Proactively manage claims through regular review and engagement
- Support rehabilitation and return-to-work outcomes where appropriate
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders,
including medical professionals and service providers
- Maintain accurate claim records in line with regulatory and compliance requirements
- Contribute to team performance expectations and service standards
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum 12 months experience in Life Insurance claims
- Exposure to Income Protection claims, and understanding of TPD is advantageous.
- Working knowledge of policy interpretation, claims assessment and benefit management
- Ability to manage a portfolio effectively within a structured environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Sound judgement and decision-making capability
- A proactive approach with the ability to adapt within a changing workplace
