Role Description The Cleaner role is a full-time, on-site position based in Wycheproof, VIC. The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene across council facilities, including offices, community buildings, and shared spaces. Daily tasks include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning restrooms, kitchens, and common areas, as well as emptying bins and managing basic waste disposal.

The role also involves restocking cleaning and hygiene supplies, reporting maintenance issues or safety hazards, and following established cleaning schedules and procedures. The Cleaner works independently and as part of a team to ensure a safe,



tidy, and welcoming environment for staff and community members.

Qualifications

- Ability to perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitising surfaces to a consistent standard.

- Knowledge of safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, including basic understanding of workplace health and safety practices.

- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and time management skills to follow schedules and complete tasks with minimal supervision.

- Valuable communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with colleagues, supervisors, and members of the public.

- Physical capacity to undertake manual work, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

- Experience in commercial or facility cleaning is desirable, particularly in council, community, or similar settings.

- Commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards and supporting a safe, inclusive, and respectful workplace.

- Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel between council sites if required.
