Summary
We are looking for a full-time, permanent Project Worker to join our Supported Housing accommodation service, Barry Offenders, based in Barry. You will provide vital support to people aged 16+ who are involved in the criminal justice system and are experiencing homelessness. This position operates on a rolling rota and includes daytime shifts, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-in duties (£62.64 per sleep-in).

About The Role
Barry Offenders Project provides temporary, supported accommodation for both young and older adults who have been involved in the criminal justice services. Our Pobl teams provide support to people to develop the key skills needed to prevent homelessness, improve financial capability and to develop the skills to settle in the community and achieve positive progression. You will play an essential part of our team where you’d be required to work in the project and in the community - supporting people in their own homes.
Day To Day Duties
- Supporting the Management team with leadership duties
- Engaging and interacting with the people we support
- Conduct and write risk assessments for the people we support
- Writing and following a support plan with the individual you are supporting
- Delivering workshops relating to tenancy management and health and wellbeing
- Liaising with external agencies
- Addressing any additional needs, the people we support might have
- Building community links and establishing partnerships that benefit our customers
Part of your role will also include lone working and sleep-in shifts at the scheme, you will be provided with a secluded area that includes a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen facilities.

Skills And Experience Needed
- Relevant work experience and knowledge of issues relating to vulnerable people is essential.
- An enthusiasm and passion for making a difference to people’s lives
- A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player
- Ability to deal with conflicting and difficult situations
- Leadership skills and ability to meet targets and deadlines
