THE OPPORTUNITY This is a senior client leadership role at the intersection of business development, strategic relationship management and technical project delivery.

Mott MacDonald holds positions on engineering panels across Victoria's major water authorities. Several of these panels are approaching renewal, making this appointment critical. The Client Director, Water will be the person who strengthens those relationships, leads the renewal process and pursues the new market opportunities that sit alongside them.

You'll work closely with the Water, Environment and Society Market Leadership to shape strategy, win work and build the kind of practice that becomes the go-to water consultancy in Victoria.

What You'll Be Doing Relationship Leadership

- Build and sustain deep, multi-level relationships across Victoria's major water authorities, including A trusted advisor who genuinely understands each client's strategic priorities and operational environment and positions Mott MacDonald accordingly.
- Represent Mott MacDonald at senior levels with credibility, consistency and a long-term relationship mindset

Project Direction
- Take on Project Director roles on key projects, ensuring delivery quality, commercial performance and client satisfaction across the Victorian water portfolio




- Monitor commercial performance trends across the client base and drive improvement strategies to meet or exceed profitability targets

Client Strategy
- Collaborate with the Water, Environment and Society Market Leadership to shape and execute a client engagement strategy aligned to each authority's priorities and emerging procurement activity
- Develop tactical approaches that are responsive to the Victorian water market, anticipating panel renewals, funding cycles and shifts in client priorities

Winning Work
- Lead the identification, pursuit and conversion of opportunities across the Victorian water sector, including panel renewals, new panel positions and project-specific bids
- Own the proposal and bid process for key pursuits, drawing on Mott MacDonald's Australian and global technical capability to develop competitive, high-quality submissions
- Maintain pipeline discipline and use market intelligence to prioritise business development activity and investment

Technical Excellence & Innovation
- Leverage Mott MacDonald's global engineering, project management and development consultancy capability and track record to bring innovative, high-quality solutions to Victorian water clients
- Maintain current knowledge of professional standards, safety in design and constructability principles across all project activity

Growing the Team
- Support the recruitment and development of professionals with strong client engagement skills in the Victorian water market
- Provide coaching and mentorship that builds a resilient, future-ready team with deep local expertise and relationships

ABOUT YOU You are a commercially sharp and well-connected water sector professional with profile and genuine credibility across Victoria's water authorities and relevant stakeholders. You understand how Victorian water sector thinks,



procures and makes decisions and you know how to position a consultancy to win and effectively deliver work in that environment.

You'll Bring

- Significant experience in the Victorian water sector, with direct relationships across one or more major water authorities.
- A track record of winning and delivering major engineering consultancy contracts, including leading bids, managing panel positions and converting relationships into contracted work
- Strong existing networks at senior levels within the Victorian water market; known in the industry and trusted by clients
- Demonstrated ability to direct project delivery commercially and technically, with a focus on client outcomes and business performance
- The communication skills and presence to operate effectively at a senior level with water authority leadership, government stakeholders and internal teams across a global organisation
- Experience working within and leveraging a large, matrixed professional services firm. Comfortable drawing on global capability to deliver local outcomes
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering or a related discipline; chartership (CPEng or equivalent) highly regarded
