AbilitiesNQ is a leading provider of disability support, youth services, and community care across North Queensland. As our organisation continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Recruitment Consultant to join our Human Resources team based in Townsville.
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of end-to-end recruitment while contributing to the growth and success of an organisation that supports some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
About the Role
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for managing recruitment activities and general HR officer tasks across a diverse workforce. You will work closely with operational leaders to understand workforce requirements, develop recruitment strategies, source quality candidates, and ensure a positive candidate experience from application through to onboarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end recruitment processes across multiple service streams
- Conduct screening interviews and candidate assessments
- Draft and advertise vacancies across various platforms
- Coordinate interviews and selection processes
- Undertake reference checks and employment verification
- Assist with onboarding and pre-employment compliance requirements
- Maintain accurate recruitment records and reporting
- Build talent pools to support future workforce needs
- Develop strong relationships with hiring managers across the organisation
- Contribute to continuous improvement of recruitment systems and processes
- Support employer branding and attraction initiatives
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Previous recruitment, talent acquisition, or human resources experience
- Solid interviewing and candidate assessment skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple vacancies simultaneously
- Strong administrative and computer skills
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach
Desirable
- Experience recruiting within community services, disability, or youth sectors
- Knowledge of employment screening requirements including NDIS Worker Screening and Blue Card requirements
- Experience using HRIS, recruitment, or applicant tracking systems
