TFA has a strategic alliance with the National Rugby League (NRL) and operates in alignment with the Australian Sports Commission (ASC), working collaboratively with State and Territory partners to deliver the sport from grassroots to elite. As part of TFA's strategic plan "The Next Play" (2026-2032), TFA is committed to delivering innovative, participation-focused strategies that grow the game at grassroots and elite levels.

Guided by our organisational values of United, Inclusive, Integrity, and Excellence, the Club and Competition Development Coordinator – Victoria plays a critical role in growing community and state competitions, expanding the affiliate network, and building the capacity of clubs and volunteers to deliver high-quality Touch Football experiences. This role focuses on driving participation growth across centrally managed competitions at Fawkner and Albert Park, in community driven Affiliate competitions, coordinating state leagues and events such as VT League and Junior State Cup, expanding the number of affiliates across Victoria, and developing the capability of volunteers and clubs to deliver sustainable programs and competitions.

Primary Purpose Of The Role The

Club and Competition Development Coordinator - Victoria is responsible for driving participation growth across centrally managed competitions at Fawkner and Albert Park, supporting community driven Affiliate competitions, coordinating state leagues and events such as VT League and Junior State Cup, expanding the affiliate network, and building the capacity of clubs and volunteers to deliver high-quality Touch Football experiences across Victoria. Reporting to the Growth Manager - Victoria, this role coordinates competition operations across multiple venues,



delivers major state events, develops affiliate capability through training and resources, and builds volunteer capacity to grow sustainable participation across the state. This role requires strong organisational skills, event management capability, attention to detail in competition administration, and the ability to build productive relationships with volunteers, affiliates, and community partners.

Job Responsibilities Competition Coordination

Coordinate centrally managed competitions at Fawkner and Albert Park including fixtures, registrations, match day operations, and MySideline platform management.

Support community driven Affiliate competitions with resources, guidance, and technical assistance.

Lead the coordination and delivery of state leagues and events including VT League, Junior State Cup, and other state competitions.

Coordinate match officials, volunteers, equipment, and venue bookings for competition delivery.

Prepare and distribute competition paperwork, communications, and manage scores, results, and ladders.

Oversee day-to-day operations of competitions including financial and resource management.

Ensure competitions and events are compliant, delivered with integrity and consistency, and administered in line with TFA rules, regulations, and competition manual.

Affiliate

Growth and Development Identify opportunities and develop strategies to establish recent Affiliates across Victoria.

Build strong relationships with Affiliates and provide practical support including governance, policies, systems, MySideline implementation, and best-practice guidance.

Deliver training, workshops, and resources to build Affiliate capability and volunteer capacity.

Facilitate regular meetings and networking opportunities between Affiliates to share best practices.

Provide innovative options to Affiliates through modified formats in delivery and game types.

Volunteer Workforce Development

Ensure technical and educational programs are delivered to the volunteer network in line with current national platforms.

Develop and deliver training programs to build volunteer capability across coaching, officiating, and event management.

Support recruitment, development, retention, and ongoing mentoring of volunteers, coordinators, and club administrators.

Stakeholder

Engagement and Events Provide elevated customer service to volunteers, officials, referees, clubs, and participants.





Build and maintain relationships with local councils, community organisations, and key stakeholders.

Support the Growth Manager with stakeholder engagement and partnership development.

Assist in the delivery of local, state, and national events as required.

Review participant and affiliate experiences to drive continuous improvement and report on performance.

Key Relationships

Reports directly to the Growth Manager - Victoria

Works closely with Victorian affiliates and key volunteers

Collaborates with TFA national staff and State and Territory partners

Engages with local councils, community organisations, and key stakeholders

Coordinates with referees, match officials, and event volunteers Key Selection Criteria Essential Demonstrated success in delivering competitions and events in sport or community settings.

Strong organisational and planning skills with high attention to detail.

Excellent stakeholder management and ability to work with volunteers and committees.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines of competing priorities.

High-level computer literacy including Excel, Word, and online platforms.

Demonstrated initiative and ability to work autonomously.

Technical knowledge and experience in sport development program delivery.

Ability to develop creative and innovative solutions.

Energetic personality that supports ability to build effective relationships.

Flexibility to work outside normal hours including evenings and weekends.

Current driver's licence and access to personal vehicle.

Hold or be eligible to hold Working with Children Check (WWCC).

Desirable

Knowledge and understanding of Touch Football.

Experience with MySideline or similar competition management platforms.

Experience delivering volunteer training or capability building programs.

Experience in budget management and grant acquittals.
