The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a 3+ PQE lawyer with commercial and insolvency experience to join us in our early growth stages. This role is ideal for an ambitious professional looking for a "ground floor" opportunity with a clear progression path to future leadership and principal roles.

You will work autonomously with the direct support and mentorship of the Principal, allowing you to refine your expertise in a high-stakes yet supportive environment.

We service small to medium-sized businesses, high net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, and liquidators, and we regularly advise on government tenders.

We are seeking someone to start immediately.

What You Bring

- Credentials: Admitted to practice in Victoria with a valid practicing certificate
- Expertise: Experience in commercial law, litigation, debt recovery, and insolvency (cross-border experience is a plus)
- Versatility: We welcome candidates from various litigation backgrounds who are eager to expand their practice
- Drive: A proactive approach to file management and a desire to contribute to firm culture

Core Competencies

- Technical: Proficiency in drafting commercial agreements (B2B, Sale of Business, Shareholder Agreements), leasing, expertise in drafting and disputes, insolvency claims (preference and insolvent trading claims),



and expertise in drafting pleadings or briefs
- Communication: Exceptional oral and written skills; confidence in negotiating with opposing solicitors and briefing Counsel
- Organisation: Ability to prioritise competing deadlines and manage files end-to-end
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel

Your role

Key responsibilities include

- Managing files from initial instructions through to litigation or settlement, including client management
- Drafting pleadings, court documents, and commercial contracts, and assisting Counsel
- Representing clients in Court, mediations, and pre-hearing conferences
- Running sale/purchase of business matters, commercial leasing files, general litigation, debt recovery, and insolvency matters
- Contributing to the firm’s growth and culture through strategic active participation in firm events
- Collaborating with senior lawyers with general legal and administrative tasks
