Communications Officer

- Play a key role in raising the profile and impact of UWA's public policy research and engagement activities.
- Gain hands-on experience delivering communications, digital content, stakeholder engagement initiatives and high-profile events across government, industry and community sectors.
- Casual appointment.

About the opportunity

- Support the delivery of communications, marketing and stakeholder engagement activities for the UWA Public Policy Institute (PPI), helping to showcase the University's policy expertise and influence.
- Coordinate and support events, promotional campaigns, social media activities and digital communications that strengthen engagement with researchers, government, industry and community partners.
- Contribute to the successful implementation of the Institute's Communications Strategy and provide operational support for key initiatives, including the Pathways to Politics for Women Program.

About you

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in communications, marketing, events coordination, stakeholder engagement or public affairs, ideally within higher education, research, government or a similar professional environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience creating engaging digital content, promotional materials,



social media content and stakeholder communications.
- Excellent organisational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, support event delivery and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital communication tools including content management systems, databases, graphic design and multimedia applications.
