Join ourBetter Connect program which uses ahub and spoke model , and work within a dynamic team delivering therapeutic interventions to residents living in Aged Care Facilities who are experiencing mental health concerns across the Sunshine Coast.
The role
As Mental Health Clinician you'll play a key role in providinghigh-quality counselling and supporting the mental health and wellbeing of older individuals. Plus, enjoyflexible, family-friendly work conditions andcompetitive pay – making this an ideal opportunity for work-life balance!
- Providehigh-quality counselling (individual and group settings) for residents in aged care facilities, helping them navigate mental health challenges.This includes the ability to assess and address the unique needsof each clientwhile using ethical frameworks and skilled judgment to navigate complex situations.
- Increasemental health awareness among aged care facility staff, families, and carers to create asupportive environment .
- Collaborateclosely with aged care facilities, families, carers, and other stakeholders to ensure aholistic, integrated approach to mental wellbeing.
- Engage insupervision and professional development , ensuring continuous growth andexcellence in service delivery .
About you
We need someone with a strong background in mental health and a passion for supporting older adults:
- Experience working with older adults (highly regarded).
- Experience inindividual counselling therapy , with a focus on mental health, trauma, and family conflict.
- Knowledge ofmental health recovery principles , thesocial model of health , andcommunity networks .
- Familiarity with therapeutic approaches such asACT ,mindfulness , andbrief therapy .
- Experience working with older adults (highly regarded but not essential).
- Proficiency incomputer applications (Word, Email, databases).
Qualifications
- MinimumBachelor's degree (Counselling, Social Work, Nursing, or similar).
- Must maintain relevant annual registration and/or membership of professional body.
