SMP Engineering is seeking experienced Construction Superintendents and Supervisors for multiple project opportunities across Western Australia.

We are looking for experienced site leaders with backgrounds in:

- Structural, mechanical and piping construction
- Non-Process Infrastructure projects
- Mine-site buildings and facilities
- Brownfields construction and project close-out works

These positions offer an immediate start on a 2 weeks on, 1 week off FIFO roster from Perth, competitive rates and genuine opportunities to progress into more senior site and project leadership roles as SMP Engineering continues to grow.

About the Roles

Depending on the position and project scope, your responsibilities may include:
- Leading and coordinating construction teams across SMP, building and NPI work fronts.
- Managing daily site activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project schedules.
- Supervising tradespeople, operators, labourers and subcontractors.
- Planning work fronts and coordinating labour, equipment, materials and access requirements.
- Ensuring construction activities comply with drawings, specifications, quality requirements and company procedures.
- Conducting pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, workplace inspections and safety interactions.
- Monitoring productivity, progress and quality against project targets.
- Working closely with project managers, engineers, clients and other site stakeholders.
- Identifying construction issues and implementing practical solutions.
- Maintaining accurate daily reports, timesheets, progress records and site documentation.
- Supporting commissioning, punch listing, defect rectification and project close-out activities.
- Promoting a positive, accountable and safety-focused culture across the workforce.

SMP Supervisors

SMP Supervisors will ideally have experience across:
- Structural,



Mechanical & Piping installation.
- Flange management and mechanical completions.
- Brownfields modifications and tie-in works.
- Punch listing, commissioning support and project close-out.
- Leading multidisciplinary crews in an operational mine-site environment.

NPI Supervisors

NPI Supervisors will ideally have experience delivering mine-site infrastructure such as:
- Accommodation camps and associated facilities.
- Administration buildings, workshops and warehouses.
- Crib rooms, ablutions and changerooms.
- Concrete, earthworks and civil construction.
- Utilities and underground services.
- Water, wastewater and drainage infrastructure.
- Roads, hardstands, fencing and external works.
- Modular building installation and associated fit-out works.

A sound understanding of both building and civil construction principles will be highly regarded for the NPI positions.

What You Will Need

To be considered, you must have:

- Current Schedule 26 accreditation.
- Previous construction supervision or superintendent experience in a mining or resources environment.
- Relevant experience across SMP, NPI, building or multidisciplinary construction.
- A proven ability to lead crews and manage multiple work fronts.
- Strong safety leadership and knowledge of mine-site requirements.
- The ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and project documentation.
- Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and client-facing skills.
- A current Australian driver’s licence.
- The ability to complete a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.
- Availability to work a 2/1 FIFO roster from Perth.





Desirable Qualifications and Experience

The following will be highly regarded:
- Trade or Tertiary qualification in a related discipline.
- Current First Aid certification.
- High Risk Work Licence.
- Experience delivering mine-site NPI projects.
- Experience supervising structural, mechanical and piping scopes.
- Brownfields construction experience.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary crews.
- Experience with commissioning, completions and punch-list activities.
- Previous experience working with major mining clients in Western Australia.
