An established not-for-profit mental health provider is seeking Consultant Psychiatrists to deliver flexible telepsychiatry services across NSW.
This chance is designed for psychiatrists who want to provide private consultations without the administrative and operational responsibilities of managing their own practice. Consultations can be completed securely from home, with the organisation providing referrals, systems and comprehensive administrative support.
Psychiatrists are engaged as independent contractors and retain 70% of their billings. Based on current activity, psychiatrists working approximately two days per week have historically earned between $160,000 and $210,000 per year across approximately 46 working weeks. Actual earnings will depend on availability, fees, patient numbers, consultation types and cancellations.
There are no minimum hours or billing expectations. You will retain control over:
- Your days and hours of availability
- The number of patients you see
- The referrals you accept
- Your preferred patient mix
- The fees you charge
The arrangement can accommodate anything from occasional half-day sessions to a regular weekly commitment alongside an existing public or private appointment.
The organisation provides
- Appointment bookings and diary management
- Patient enquiries and administrative support
- Billing, invoicing and Medicare claiming
- Referral management
- Clinic to Cloud practice management software
- Secure video consultations through Coviu
- IT support and telehealth equipment, if required
- Access to an established multidisciplinary team
- Experienced clinical leadership and support
Referrals are received from GPs and other healthcare professionals across a broad range of presentations. Wherever possible, the organisation will work with you to develop a caseload aligned with your clinical interests, subspecialty and preferred patient profile. To be considered, you will require:
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists
- Specialist registration in Psychiatry with AHPRA
- Eligibility to bill Medicare for private psychiatric services
- Appropriate professional indemnity insurance
- An ABN and the ability to work as an independent contractor
This is an excellent opportunity for a psychiatrist seeking flexible private work with established systems, consistent administrative support and control over their clinical practice. Apply confidentially or contact Callum Donlon at Redstone Medical for further information.
