: The Role

We have a new opportunity for a Contracts Manager to join a major Building project in Sydney where you will be reporting to the Project Commercial Manager. You will come from a Building environment where your previous experience in a similar role or a Senior Contracts Administrator looking for a step up will be well regarded to take on the following responsibilities.

Overseeing the entire lifecycle of contracts, from initial drafting and negotiation to completion and closure

Lead scope of works planning, ensuring that scope gaps are minimised, cost efficiencies are maximised and subcontractors capabilities are considered

Drive cost efficiency by securing best commercial outcomes

Provide insights and implement continuous improvement initiatives in contract management processes and systems and ensure standards and legal requirements are met

Lead negotiations with vendors, contractors, and other external parties for managed contracts whilst managing budget constraints

Mentor technical and delivery teams in managing contracts effectively and driving strong commercial outcomes

Ensure cost forecasting are accurately maintained and costs issues are appropriately escalated upon identification

Address contractual matters with subcontractors/suppliers including negotiating variations, claims, EOT and mitigating any contractual disputes

Provide clear, concise advice to project teams in relation to upstream contractual rights and obligations

Manage and mentor junior commercial members of the team to achieve a common goal

About You

Tertiary Qualified





5-7 years’ experience in the role of a Senior Contracts Administrator successfully delivering large scale buildings project in the commercial sector

Ability to problem-solving and respond appropriately to a range of project requirements

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, coupled with stakeholder management

Solid understanding of legal and regulatory requirements.

Have excellent time management skills and the ability to work autonomously without supervision

High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Solid financial acumen and thorough understanding of construction costs, in particular building trades
