About the role The Surf Club Bribie Island is seeking a passionate and dedicated Cook/Kitchen Hand to join our hospitality team on a casual basis. This position offers a fantastic chance to work in a dynamic beach club environment, where you'll contribute to delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our members and guests. Based in Bribie Island, Queensland, this role is perfect for someone looking for flexible work in the hospitality and tourism sector whilst being part of a vibrant community venue.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and cook meals according to standardised recipes and club specifications, maintaining consistent quality and presentation
- Assist with food preparation tasks including chopping, portioning, marinating and assembling ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, including proper sanitisation of equipment, utensils and work surfaces
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, fryers, ovens and other cooking appliances
- Support senior kitchen staff in managing food orders and ensuring timely service during service periods
- Monitor food storage and stock levels, reporting when supplies need replenishing
- Follow food safety and health regulations, including proper handling and storage of food items
- Assist with general kitchen duties including washing up, rubbish disposal and kitchen maintenance
- Contribute to a positive team environment and support colleagues when required

What we're looking for

- Previous experience working in a kitchen environment, either as a kitchen hand or in a similar food preparation role
- Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, with current Food Safety Certification (or willingness to obtain it)
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure,



particularly during busy service periods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of food presentation and quality
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a positive attitude towards collaboration
- Physical fitness and capability to stand for extended periods and handle repetitive tasks
- Flexibility to work casual shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
- A genuine passion for food preparation and hospitality
