About the Role:
As a Corporate Accountant, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function while contributing to month-end reporting, compliance, and process improvement initiatives. You'll gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of corporate accounting and have the opportunity to grow alongside an experienced finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with month-end close activities, including journals, reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Maintain prepayments, accruals and fixed asset registers.
- Prepare depreciation and amortisation journals.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and support accurate financial reporting.
- Process supplier invoices, payment runs and employee expense claims.
- Maintain supplier records and support vendor onboarding.
- Raise and manage intercompany and third-party invoices.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and reconcile AP and AR subledgers.
- Complete daily bank reconciliations.
- Prepare quarterly Business Activity Statements (BAS).
- Support annual tax compliance activities in conjunction with external advisers.
- Assist with external audit requirements by preparing supporting documentation and responding to audit queries.
- Maintain accurate financial records within a cloud-based accounting system.
- Contribute to continuous improvements across finance processes and controls.
- Assist with finance systems enhancements and data migration projects as required.
About You: You'll be a motivated and detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and is keen to continue developing your career.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
- 1 - 3 years' experience in accounting, finance operations or professional services.
- Commenced, or intending to commence, your CA or CPA qualification.
- A sound understanding of double-entry accounting, GST and financial statements.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and month-end processes.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience using cloud-based accounting software (such as Sage Intacct, Xero, NetSuite or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional approach to stakeholder management.
