earthmoving and plant solutions to major mining operations across Southern Africa. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Creditors
Clerk to join our Finance team.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Creditors Clerk who enjoys administrative work and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring supplier accounts are managed efficiently, payments are processed accurately and financial information is captured timeously.
This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to build positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing all COD (Cash on Delivery) supplier purchases and payments.
- Reconciling supplier statements and creditor accounts on a monthly basis.
- Capturing supplier invoices accurately into the accounting system.
- Allocating supplier expenses to the correct General Ledger accounts.
- Preparing and loading supplier payments for approval.
- Following up with suppliers to obtain outstanding statements and supporting documentation.
- Investigating and resolving supplier account queries and reconciling differences.
- Maintaining accurate creditor records and filing supporting documentation.
- Assisting with month-end creditor procedures and reporting.
- Performing all other administrative and finance-related duties associated with the creditors function.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Creditors Clerk or similar accounting role.
- Solid understanding of accounts payable and creditor reconciliations.
- Strong administrative skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Good numerical ability and accounting knowledge.
- Computer literate with experience using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues before they become problems.
Desirable Qualifications
- Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or Bookkeeping.
- Experience with Pastel or Sage Accounting software
- Experience within the mining, construction or plant hire industries would be advantageous.
