4th-Year Plumbing Apprentice - Hvac, Service & Customer Aftercare

JOB DESCRIPTION

OPT Energy is seeking an experienced 4th-year plumbing apprentice to join our HVAC, hot-water and customer aftercare team across Melbourne.

This is a permanent full time TFN employee position. Experience with both HVAC systems and heat-pump hot-water units is highly regarded.

Key responsibilities:

- Manage customer complaints professionally
- Liaise with customers regarding ongoing technical issues
- Troubleshoot HVAC and heat-pump hot-water systems
- Conduct onsite inspections and diagnostic checks
- Identify installation faults and required corrective work
- Perform plumbing and HVAC rectification work within your competency and under appropriatelicensed supervision
- Assist with split-system and ducted air-conditioning installations
- Complete heat-pump hot-water installations and servicing
- Coordinate with plumbers, electricians, installers, suppliers and manufacturers
- Document findings with clear notes, photographs and service reports
- Keep customers updated and follow cases through to resolution




- Escalate compliance or complex technical issues when required
- Update and close jobs correctly in the company CRM

Requirements:

- Currently registered as a 4th-year plumbing apprentice
- Completing Certificate III in Plumbing
- Experience with HVAC and/or heat-pump hot-water systems
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding ability
- Confident and professional when dealing with customers
- Able to manage complaints calmly
- Reliable transport and basic tools
- Current TAFE, competency and apprenticeship records
- Refrigerant Handling Licence or trainee authorizationis advantageous
- Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge is advantageous
