Company Description Metropolitan Demolitions Group (MDG), comprising Metropolitan Demolitions Pty Ltd and Metropolitan Demolitions & Recycling Pty Ltd, is a recognized provider of specialist demolition and civil services. The group supplies hired plant, recycled, and reusable products to a wide range of industry sectors and the general public. MDG operates an EPA-licensed recycling facility in St Peters, NSW, processing brick and concrete into various recycled products. The organization is committed to safety, environmental responsibility, and productive project delivery. Team members contribute to projects that support sustainable construction and resource recovery across the region. Role Description Engineers will work full time on-site in Sydney, NSW, supporting demolition and civil projects from planning through execution. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and reviewing project methodologies, preparing technical documentation and drawings, and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. The role involves coordinating with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors, conducting site inspections and risk assessments, and monitoring structural integrity during demolition activities.

Engineers will also contribute to optimizing recycling processes, evaluating the use of recycled materials, and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives in plant operations and project delivery.On the job support, and mentoring along with practical training will be provided.

We have both fulltime and fixed term contract positions available.

You fit the role if you have:





- Strong foundation in civil or structural engineering principles, including knowledge of demolition methodologies and construction practices.
- Experience with engineering design tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar), and ability to read and produce technical drawings and specifications.
- Understanding of safety standards, risk assessment processes, and relevant Australian regulations for demolition, construction, and environmental compliance.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, communicate clearly with site personnel and stakeholders, and document technical findings effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline; eligibility for or working toward professional engineering accreditation is desirable.
- Previous experience in demolition, civil construction, or recycling facilities is an advantage, along with familiarity with plant and equipment used on-site.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and capacity to work safely and efficiently in active site environments.
- Ability to Monitor and ensure compliance with documentation including client specifications, applicable legislation, approvals and standards
- Identify and raise any potential non-conformances
- Supporting the Site Supervisor and Project Manager to deliver the contract scope
- A sense of enthusiasm and commitment to a career in demolition
- A collaborative approach to work with demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Packages including Excel, Word and Project.
