Your role:
As an Army Dental Assistant, you’ll enjoy a rewarding role assisting Army dentists and taking responsibility for patient management, dental records and the management of x-ray and dental equipment. You’ll be a soldier highly skilled in dental procedures who provides direct assistance to a dentist or a civilian dental hygienist.
You’ll be a member of the Army's dental team and provide dental services for hospitals, health battalions and dental centres. On base, you’ll train and work in modern well-equipped clinics. On exercises and operations in Australia and overseas, you’ll work in sophisticated mobile facilities or Navy vessels.

Location: Following your initial military training, you could be posted to one of the many Army bases and units across Australia.
You’ll be primarily positions in Adelaide, SA, Brisbane, Qld, Darwin, NT or Townsville, Qld. You may also be posted to other locations, including regional areas.
Salary:
Upon commencing training, your starting salary will be approximately $60,517 per annum plus 16.4% superannuation and your pay will increase as you progress through training.
On completion of your initial military training and initial employment training, you’ll enjoy a package starting from $82,322 per annum.
Eligibility:
For this role, you must:
- Be at least 17 at the time of enlistment, an Australian Citizen, and have completed an Australian Year 10 education (or equivalent) with passes in English and Mathematics

- Be reasonably fit and healthy.Keeping fit is a big part of joining the ADF. You’ll need to pass a physical fitness test before you join, but don’t worry, we'll give you tips to help you prepare
