Position Overview The Design Draughtsperson will play a key role in translating engineering concepts and designs into accurate, high-quality manufacturing documentation. Working closely with engineers, production personnel and project stakeholders, you will develop and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, detailed manufacturing drawings and technical documentation to support the delivery of products from concept through to production. You will work closely with our in-house production team,



allowing you to see your designs and drawings transformed into finished products while gaining valuable insight into real-world manufacturing challenges and opportunities for continuous improvement.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys technical drafting, problem-solving, and working collaboratively with engineers and production teams to deliver practical engineering solutions. Key Accountabilities

- Develop and maintain accurate 3D CAD models, assemblies and detailed manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
- Produce technical drawings in accordance with applicable standards, specifications and company requirements.
- Support engineers in the development of current products and the improvement of existing products.
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of product data packs, user manuals and manufacturing documentation.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable and accurately documented.
- Support prototype development and product testing activities by incorporating design updates and improvements.
- Participate in design reviews and provide drafting support throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Ensure drawing revisions and engineering documentation are controlled and maintained within company systems.




- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives relating to design, drafting and manufacturing processes.
- Promote a culture of quality, safety and attention to detail across all aspects of work.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in design and drafting
- Experience using 3D modelling software such as Inventor, SolidWorks or AutoCAD
- Knowledge of Australian and international standards for mechanical, electrical, and electronic components
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
- Experience in the defence industry or shipbuilding (desirable)
