About the Role

RAM Equipment is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Diesel Mechanic/Fitter to support our growing customer base across the Whyalla and Roxby Downs region. This is a full time, remote field-based role, where you'll be responsible for servicing, repairs, maintenance, and diagnostic work on a wide range of heavy machinery and attachments.

Working independently from customer sites throughout Whyalla, Roxby Downs, and surrounding areas, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality support and ensuring maximum equipment uptime. You'll be backed by our experienced Adelaide head office and workshop team, with occasional travel to Adelaide required for training, team meetings, or major repair works.

This role offers the opportunity to work autonomously while building strong relationships with customers across the region.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on diesel-powered machinery and attachments
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults efficiently
- Attend breakdowns on customer sites and provide timely, professional field service support
- Assist with installation, commissioning of new equipment, and decommissioning for transport
- Maintain accurate job cards, service reports, and digital records
- Manage your field service vehicle, tools, and parts inventory
- Uphold RAM's high safety standards and ensure compliance with WHS procedures
- Represent the RAM brand professionally at all times

What We're Looking For

- Trade qualification in Diesel Mechanics or Mobile Plant Technology (Cert III or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Diesel Mechanic/Fitter, ideally within construction, mining,



or industrial sectors
- Strong diagnostic ability across mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems
- Experience working autonomously in remote or field service environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- High level of reliability and self‑management
- Current driver's licence (HR desirable but not essential)
- Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
