About the Opportunity

Here is your chance to shape the digital future of one of Australia and New Zealand's leading design practices. As Director, Digital Innovation & Technology, you will lead Arcadia's DIT function, the engine where technology, design and operations meet across every studio.

You will own the strategy and the outcome: a nationally consistent, digitally capable practice with genuine AI capability and the ring-fenced R&D; backing to turn bold ideas into award-worthy workflows. The mission is clear, to make Arcadia the country's most digitally capable landscape-led design practice by 2029.

- Lead the DIT team, including studio-based BIM/Digital Design Leads and the national IT Support/Help Desk team.
- Restructure the DIT operating model and govern Arcadia's Common Data Workplace.
- Chair AI governance (AIGIC) and maintain a prioritised AI Product Roadmap.
- Run the Arcadia Labs innovation pipeline, turning ideas into adopted, award-worthy workflows.
- Set BIM standards and advance the Arcadia Visualisation Standard and shared design asset library.
- Lead GIS and Country mapping partnerships with the First Nations Design Council, with clear IP and data sovereignty governance.
- Own IT infrastructure, help desk, hardware fleet and MSP governance, automating routine work to cut admin and cost.
- Replace manual leadership reporting with AI-powered decision support,

and launch the national skills matrix with People & Culture.

The expertise you'll bring

- A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in IT management roles within the architecture or engineering sectors.
- Demonstrated experience implementing AI solutions and governance frameworks that enhance operational efficiency.
- A proven track record leading BIM implementation and CDE adoption across large-scale projects.
- Strategic IT planning and execution within a design context, including business analysis and reporting automation.
- Experience governing MSP or outsourced IT support relationships, and overseeing help desk operations and hardware fleet lifecycles.
- Evidenced success managing cross-functional teams, studio-based leads and diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in AI technologies and their applications in design and architecture, plus extensive knowledge of BIM processes and standards.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, network security, backup systems and CDE platforms (e.g. Autodesk Construction Cloud, LucidLink), and familiarity with agile software development practices.
- Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to inspire teams and engage stakeholders at every level.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

Desirable

- A history of delivering innovative technology solutions that drive business growth and improve client outcomes.
