Seeking a Criminal Lawyer with a Minimum of One Year Post-Admission Experience (Immediate Start)

We are a boutique criminal law firm based in the Bankstown region and are seeking an experienced criminal lawyer with a minimum of one year post-admission experience in criminal law to join our team.

Although the firm is based in Bankstown, you will be required to travel to various courts throughout Sydney on a daily basis. You are a motivated and proactive lawyer with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You are resilient and self-driven who is able to work independently, demonstrate initiative and effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Selection Criteria





- Hold a current NSW Practicing Certificate or eligible to obtain one.
- A minimum of one year post-admission experience in criminal caw.
- Australian Citizenship is required for this position.
- Experience appearing in the Local Court, District Court and Supreme Court of Recent South Wales.
- Experience with drafting, reviewing and preparing legal documents.
- Strong legal research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and robust organisational and time management skills.
- Arabic speaking preferred but not essential.
- A genuine passion for criminal law.

Key Responsibilities

- Attend various courts across Sydney on a daily basis.
- Appear in the Local Court for mentions and sentencing proceedings.
- Independently conduct hearings in the Local Court.
- Independently conduct trials in the District Court.
- Appear in Bail Applications.
- Briefing counsel in District Court and Supreme Court matters.
- Prepare court bundles and briefs for matters in the Local Court, District Court and Supreme Court.
