Port Augusta City Council is seeking a passionate and qualified Early Childhood (Pre-primary School) Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This is a full time permanent position offering an attractive salary package and the opportunity to contribute to the education and development of young children in a supportive learning setting.

Key Duties and Responsibilities The successful applicant will be responsible for:

- Planning, organising and delivering educational programs in indoor and outdoor learning environments using a variety of teaching materials and resources.

- Providing engaging learning experiences and activities that promote children's cognitive, language, literacy, numeracy, social, emotional, creative and physical development.

- Supporting children's language development through storytelling, role play, music, songs, rhymes and group discussions.

- Observing, assessing and documenting children's learning and developmental progress and implementing strategies to support individual learning needs.

- Monitoring children's health, wellbeing, safety and nutritional needs while identifying factors that may affect their learning and development.

- Building positive relationships with children,



families and colleagues and regularly discussing children's progress with parents and caregivers.

- Participating in parent meetings, staff meetings, professional development activities and community engagement programs.

- Contributing to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment while complying with relevant legislation, policies and quality standards.

- Supervising student teachers and mentoring educators where appropriate.

Essential Selection Criteria

Applicants must possess

- Bachelor Degree or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field recognised in Australia.

- Current teacher registration in South Australia, or eligibility to obtain registration before commencement.

- Minimum one year of full time (or equivalent part time) post qualification work experience as an Early Childhood Teacher.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Strong interpersonal, organisational and teamwork skills.

- Current Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain one prior to commencement.
