We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join Konecranes & Demag Pty Ltd in Melbourne, VIC. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in the design, development, and optimisation of electrical systems for our material handling and lifting equipment. As an Electrical Engineer, you will contribute to projects that enhance operational efficiency and safety across various industrial applications.
This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative solutions within a dynamic engineering environment, combining technical expertise with practical problem-solving to deliver high-quality outcomes for our clients. Key responsibilities
Design and develop electrical systems and control circuits for lifting and material handling equipment
Conduct electrical analysis, simulations, and testing to ensure systems meet performance and safety specifications
Prepare detailed electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation in compliance with industry standards
Collaborate with mechanical and control engineers to integrate electrical components into overall system designs
Troubleshoot electrical faults and implement corrective measures to optimise system performance
Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with relevant electrical safety regulations and standards
Participate in project planning and provide technical input on feasibility, timeline, and resource requirements
Support testing and commissioning activities to verify electrical systems function as designed
Maintain current knowledge of electrical technologies, industry standards, and best practices What we're looking for Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional qualification
Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the manufacturing, lifting equipment, or industrial automation sectors
Strong knowledge of electrical system design, power distribution, control systems, and automation technology
Proficiency with electrical CAD software and modelling tools
Solid understanding of electrical safety standards, including AS/NZS standards and relevant industry codes
Experience with PLC programming and industrial control systems is highly desirable
Excellent technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
Qualified certification or membership with Engineers Australia is preferred
Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel occasionally for site visits and commissioning activities What we offer
