National Health & Safety Manager (precast manufacturing)

Location: Erskine Park (with regular national travel)

Drive the safety culture behind one of Australia's leading civil infrastructure suppliers

Civilcast is an Australian-owned market leader supplying stormwater, water, sewer, infrastructure, electrical and communications products to the civil construction industry. We're looking for an experienced National Health & Safety Manager to embed a company-wide safety program and champion a genuine safety-first culture across our manufacturing operations nationally.

About You

You're a proactive safety champion who builds trust through collaboration, transparent communication, and a genuine commitment to safety — not just compliance. You bring in-depth knowledge of WHS legislation, standards and codes of practice, including workers' compensation law, along with strong case management and problem-solving skills. You're comfortable leading through influence across a geographically dispersed team, and you're energised by regular travel to connect with people on the ground. You handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism, and you're known for getting things done.

Qualifications & Experience

- Qualification in WHS, Occupational Health, Risk Management, or a related field;
- 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment, including workers' compensation and injury management;
- Demonstrated success managing workers' compensation claims end to end;
- Experience leading or partnering with safety teams across multiple sites or regions;
- Strong leadership,

coaching and stakeholder engagement skills;
- High attention to detail and organisational skills;
- Resilient, adaptable, and driven, with a track record of continuous improvement;
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly to interstate/regional sites.
- Precast or construction industry experience;
- Accreditation in injury management or workers' compensation (e.g. Return to Work Coordinator);
- HSR Representative certification;
- First Aid certification.

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you'll lead the national safety function, working closely with regional Safety Managers and site leaders to promote a consistent, safety-first culture and ensure compliance with WHS legislation across all Civilcast locations. This is a hands-on, nationally-focused role — you'll travel regularly to our sites to build relationships, coach local teams, and see safety performance firsthand, while also setting the national standards, systems and strategy that unify our approach to safety across the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Partner with stakeholders to implement safety strategies and policies aligned with business objectives;
- Lead, support and mentor regional Safety Managers,

ensuring a consistent and aligned approach to safety across all sites;
- Conduct regular visits to interstate and regional locations to engage with site teams, review local practices and provide on-the-ground coaching;
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, regulations and standards nationally;
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard analysis to identify and respond to safety risks across the network;
- Manage workers' compensation claims from notification through to resolution;
- Train and advise team members and leaders on safety matters;
- Communicate safety issues to team members, management and external stakeholders;
- Maintain the national safety scoreboard, including incident and hazard reporting and investigation across all sites;
- Develop, implement and update safety policies, procedures, systems and documents, including SWMS, ensuring national consistency;
- Identify and share best practice across regions to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

Why Join Civilcast?

- Vibrant team culture — join a team that values hard work, respect, and celebrates wins together;
- Career progression — long-term opportunity with ongoing training and professional development;
- Well-rounded package — strong salary, rewards and incentives, both monetary and non-monetary;
- National scope — a role with real breadth, variety and the chance to shape safety outcomes across the whole business.
