We are seeking a kind, patient, and friendly Italian-speaking volunteer to spend time with an older person living in a residential care facility in Auburn.

The role involves providing companionship through meaningful conversations in Italian, listening to Italian music together, watching Italian cooking shows, and sharing cultural memories and experiences. This is a wonderful chance for someone who enjoys connecting with older people and helping them maintain a sense of familiarity, language, and connection to their Italian heritage.

The ideal volunteer will be warm, reliable, and comfortable having relaxed conversations in Italian. No formal experience is required — just a willingness to spend time, listen, and bring joy through companionship.

Volunteers are required to visit once per fortnight (although we prefer weekly where possible), duration of visit is up to you. We require a commitment of minimum 6 months - 12 months or longer.

Training

Training is provided in addition to ongoing support from your local Volunteer Program Coordinator
