Exciting opportunities have arisen for several Assistant Operations Officers to join the Land Tax and Parking Space Levies Debt teams within the Taxes and Grants Division in Revenue NSW. Employees on a current 5/6 talent pool or who have been comparatively assessed at grade are encouraged to apply.
As NSW’s principal revenue agency, Revenue NSW administers state taxation and revenue for and on behalf of the people of NSW. The Tax Debt branch is responsible for resolving debt for several Business Taxes, Land Tax and Duties products as well as assisting customers in meeting their ongoing obligations.
Your day-to-day
- Review complex matters and provide professional legislative and procedural advice to customers
- Coach and develop staff, and undertake quality assurance reviews within the team to identify training needs and ensure accuracy
- Maintain comprehensive and up to date knowledge of legislation, policies, procedures and business rules to provide quality advice to customers
- Contribute to the implementation of change through continuous improvement and innovation
To be successful in the role, you will demonstrate:
- Experience in applying legislation, policies
- Superior problem solving, analysis and decision-making skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a high performing agile team.
- Proven ability to manage and prioritise multiple responsibilities in a high-volume work environment, while meeting business outcomes
- Professional judgement, tact, sensitivity, and initiative when obtaining information, negotiating with, and gaining audit acceptance from customers whilst maintaining positive relationships
- Adept interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to work under pressure with exceptional time management skills
- Proven ability to deliver on team and business Key Performance Indicators whilst providing coaching and mentoring to staff
- Flexibility and the ability to work as a positive and effective team member
