Better Living Australia is an Australian-owned company specializing in premium therapeutic adjustable beds and sleep systems. Their products are registered medical devices under the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and designed specifically to relieve symptoms related to chronic pain, restricted mobility, and poor circulation.

Furniture Sew/assemble upholstery and soft-furnishings components (e.g., fabric/leather/vinyl covers, seat & back components, cushions, curtains/soft furnishings as needed) to shop or client specifications using industrial sewing machines (including straight-stitch, overlocker, blind hem, piping work, etc.).

Key duties:

Sew upholstery/furniture components accurately (covers, zips, piping, welting, bias cuts where required)

Operate industrial sewing machines and related attachments (overlock/overseam, binding, edge finishing, etc.)

Join fabric panels using correct seam allowances, alignment, pattern matching and finish quality

Prepare and assemble cushion covers/inners and components (including consistent sizing and workmanship)

Install/attach hardware elements as required (e.g., tape, handles/loops, trims, reinforcement where applicable)





Follow cutting/pattern instructions and work orders; maintain job order traceability

Inspect finished work for defects (tension, puckering, seam strength, zipper/piping alignment)

Maintain tools/machines (basic troubleshooting, keeping needles/threads suitable, keeping sewing area clean)

Work safely with sharp tools, adhesives, and heavy materials as part of the upholstery process

Experience/requirements:

Proven industrial sewing experience with upholstery/furniture (often 2-5+ years)

Confident with sewing upholstery fabrics/leather/vinyl (as required by the employer)

Ability to read instructions/work orders and meet measured specifications

High attention to detail and consistent finishing quality

Comfortable working to production timelines (factory) or job schedules (workshop)

Pay: $6,100.00 – $6,900.00 per month
