Fabrication Machinist | Defence Contract

Location: Henderson, WA

Duration: Approx. 9 -month contract

Pay Rate: $85.00 DAY | $97.00 AFT Overtime Penalties Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced Fabrication Machinist for an exciting 9-month contract opportunity with a leading Defence client based in Henderson, WA. This role is ideal for a trade-qualified machinist with strong CNC milling and turning experience, ideally gained within Defence, submarines, marine, or heavy industrial environments.

About the Role

You will be responsible for producing high-quality machined components safely, accurately, and efficiently using CNC equipment, tooling, and a range of materials. Working in a highly regulated Defence setting, you will interpret technical drawings, set up machinery and parts, operate CNC lathes and/or mills, measure and record dimensions, and complete maintenance tasks as required.

About You To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Australian citizenship, essential for Defence site requirements
- Mechanical Trade Certificate in Machining or Fitting / Machining
- Proven experience operating CNC lathes and/or mills
- Experience with both milling and turning
- Ability to set up CNC machinery and components accurately
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings




- Ability to measure, record, and verify part dimensions
- Experience completing maintenance tasks
- White Card
- Confined Space Certification
- National Police Clearance
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment
- Defence, submarine, marine, or heavy industrial experience, highly regarded
- Experience with Okuma CNC machines, highly desirable
