Family Lawyer/Wills & Estate Lawyer - Anthony's Solicitors
The opportunity
We are seeking a Family Lawyer (also with experience in Wills and Estate Law) to join our Mill Park office. This role is suited to a lawyer with 5–6 years' post admission experience who is looking to build depth, confidence and capability within a dedicated family law environment.
You will work within a collaborative, well-resourced team that practices exclusively in family law and is known for its strategic, client focused approach to complex and emotionally sensitive matters.
The role
You will assist across a broad range of family law matters, including divorce, parenting and property disputes, while developing increasing autonomy in line with your experience.
You will also assist with matters relating to Wills & Estate Law and the granting of Probate. This includes dispute matters involving Part IV claims in Victoria under the Administration and Probate Act 1958, allowing eligible individuals to contest the distribution of a deceased person's estate if they believe they have not been adequately provided for.
This role offers meaningful exposure, solid mentorship and the opportunity to grow within a busy boutique firm operating in Mill Park.
Key responsibilities
- Working on family law matters including parenting and property disputes
- Drafting correspondence, court documents and legal advice
- Preparing matters for mediation, hearings and trial
- Managing client communication with empathy and professionalism
- Conducting legal research and supporting case strategy
- Collaborating closely with senior lawyers and the wider team
- Intervention Order matters relating to family law matters
About you
This role will suit someone who brings:
- 5–6 years' post admission experience in Family Law and Wills & Probate
- Experience across divorce, parenting and property matters, and intervention order matters
- Strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills
- Confidence managing files with appropriate supervision
- A client focused, solution-oriented approach
- Current Australian practising certificate
- Desire to build a long-term career in specialist family law
- Ability to work in Australia
Knowledge and Expertise
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with LEAP, Smokeball, eBrief Ready and Microsoft Office programs
- Strong and detailed orientated legal research skills
- Familiarity with relevant legislation including the Family Law Act and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Family Law) Rules 2021
